About the author

IMG_4926IMG_2303My name is David Weimer.

I was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and was raised in the middle of the state on a small family farm before joining the Army out of high school.  I’ve lived in six states (Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Tennessee, and Ohio) and three countries (the U.S., Germany, and France).  I’ve attempted to speak three languages (English, German, and French).

I was married to my French pen-pal for 20 years.  I’m the father of two amazing sons.  I’m a self-employed handyman painter. Jack of all trades with an emphasis on finish painting. I’ve had many professions, but only two callings–attempting to discover the meaning of life and reading/trying to write.

I’ve done a lot of things that can be described as adventurous.

This writing blog began as my way of keeping myself writing and holding myself accountable when I was working on my first book.  I’ve published four since beginning this blog: Portrait of a Seeker (2011), A Handyman’s Common Sense Guide to Spiritual Seeking (2013), Ben and the Dragon (2013), and Situations of I (2015). I’m working on my fifth book and first novel, tHe, which will become available in December 2025, in both print and eBook formats.

Here are some things I wrote and posted:

Just Turns Away and Starman, Strawman;

I Knew that there was something really wrong;

Muteland;

21 Things that I wish I had told myself when I was younger;

I remember everything;

All of me;

An appropriate gesture;

Relativity Speaking (short story);

A Story with no people (told by God);

What questions would I ask?;

Seven days in May;

An excerpt from “Portrait of a Seeker”.
